CNS Demyelination Diseases Following Exposure to Urban Air Pollution

چکیده

Epidemiology findings show that exposure to urban air pollutants as a source of oxidative stress and neuroinflammation is associated with the Central Nervous System (CNS) demyelinating diseases, such Multiple Sclerosis (MS). An autoimmune response involving increased inflammation demyelination in CNS leads pathophysiology MS, which more common adult young females. Particulate Matter (PM), including fine particles (PM <2.5?m, PM 2.5) very <0.1?m, 0.1), transition metals, ozone are potent or oxidant capable producing Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). Redox-sensitive pathways can be caused by stress, leading various biological processes, other harmful outcomes brain. Exposure Diesel Exhaust Particles (DEPs) mediates significant alterations myelination across regions There also an increase ROS production DEPs exposed mice. Thus, targeting useful strategy eliminate obvious symptoms diseases. Overall, current mini-review, we examined nanoparticles MS.

Human exposure to urban air pollution.

This study deals with some methods of making human exposure estimates, aimed at describing the human exposure for selected air pollutants in Sweden that are suspected carcinogens. Nitrogen oxides (NOx) have been chosen as an indicator substance for estimating the concentration of the urban plume. Earlier investigations have shown that the traffic in Swedish cities contributes around 85% to the ...

Exposure to indoor and outdoor air pollution among children under five years old in urban area

Indoor air pollution associated with cooking and heating biomass fuel burning is estimated to be responsible for 7 million deaths in 2016 and most of these deaths occur in low and middle income countries. In Côte d'Ivoire, 73% of the population is reported using biomass (charcoal or wood) for cooking. The active device 3M EVM-7 was used to measure PM2.5 daily average concentrations i...

Prenatal Exposure to Outdoor Air Pollution and Childhood Allergic Diseases

The results showed that incidence of asthma, allergic rhinitis, and eczema in children was associated with maternal exposure to traffic-related pollutant NO2 throughout pregnancy. After adjustment for other pollutants and trimesters, the researchers found the association was significant only in specific trimesters: the first trimester for eczema, the second trimester for asthma, and the third t...
